Timesheet Settings: Cost Codes

Cost Codes help track job-related costs in your team’s timesheets. You can create and manage these codes in the Timesheet Settings section.

πŸ“ Where to Find It

Go to Settings > Timesheet > Cost Codes.

πŸ—‚ Cost Codes Page Overview

When you open the page, you’ll see a table of all the cost codes you’ve already created. From here, you can:

  • Add new cost codes
  • Edit existing ones
  • Delete codes you no longer need

πŸ“‹ Understanding the Cost Code Table

The table has two columns:

  • Cost Code – A short code or number linked to a job cost
  • Description – A quick note about what the code is for

πŸ”€ Sort the List

Click on the column headers (Cost Code or Description) to sort the list alphabetically or numerically.


πŸ“„ Show More or Fewer Codes

Choose how many cost codes to view per page: 15, 25, or 50.
Use the Previous and Next buttons to move between pages.

βž•βž– Actions Button

Click the Actions button to:

  • Add a new cost code
  • Delete selected cost codes

βœ… How to Add a Cost Code

  1. Click the Actions button
  2. Select Add New Cost Code
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Cost Code: Type the code (e.g. 001, PAINT01)
    • Description: Add a short explanation
  4. Click Save – the new code will be added to the list

✏️ How to Edit a Cost Code

  1. Click on the cost code you want to update
  2. Edit the code or description
  3. Click Save to apply changes

πŸ—‘οΈ How to Delete a Cost Code

⚠️ Deleting a cost code cannot be undone and may affect other parts of the system.

  1. Find the code you want to delete
  2. Tick the checkbox next to it
    • To delete multiple, tick several boxes
    • To select all, tick the top checkbox
  3. Click the Actions button
  4. Select Delete
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted
